Mon Amie Elizabeth by Babani & Elizabeth Arden c1926

Mon Amie Elizabeth by Babani & Elizabeth Arden was launched in 1926.


Fragrance Composition:



So what does it smell like? It was described as a delicate floral fragrance and a blend of seven different odors. "The captivating fragrance based on real Russian Leather essence."

  • Top notes: bergamot
  • Middle notes: clove oil, rose, orange blossom, orris
  • Base notes: Russian Leather, civet, birch tar oil, vanilla, styrax, benzoin, sandalwood
 

Bottles:



The largest size of the parfum was a 32 ounce bottle which retailed for $125 in 1930.

The Amarillo Globe Times, 1929:
"Mon Amie Elizabeth - a delicate blend of odors - "the perfect gift of a friend to a friend'.."

The bottle for Mon Amie Elisabeth was available in two sizes: the less expensive bottle is of colorless glass, the expensive model, the de luxe, was of yellow cut to clear crystal. 
This bottle measures 5 1/4" tall x 2 5/8" wide. It is yellow crystal, cut with clear round windows on each side. The front has gold writing which reads: "Mon Ami Elizabeth Maurice Babani Paris". The ground bottom is etched "MADE IN FRANCE." 










Fate of the Fragrance:


Discontinued, date unknown. Still being sold in 1941.
